Anglers use Hooked to measure their hooks to a tenth of a millimetre, and the app tells them what size that is at every brand. Your ranges are among them. Today with the label indicative, because they are published nowhere.
What this is about
That is not an accusation. It is a historical fact with a practical consequence you field questions about every week.
Switch brands and your trusted size 4 suddenly runs different. That means a return, a complaint, or worse: a quiet move to someone else. The problem is not your hook but the absence of a shared language.
They are the only property every maker shares, even though almost nobody prints them. Hooked measures them, and translates your numbering into the next maker's and back.
The proposal
Every figure in the app visibly carries its provenance. That is not an afterthought but the heart of the design: a table that pretends to certainty is not a table but a guess with decimals.
From you. From your own drawings or measurement reports, with your name attached. This is where we want to get to.
From your customers. The average of what anglers measure with the app. It sharpens on its own, but it stays an estimate from the outside.
From a catalogue image. Read off whatever is public. This is where your ranges sit today, and it is the weakest label there is.
What it costs you
No contract, no integration, no development work on your side.
Per range: the size number, and the gape in millimetres. Wire diameter and shank length are welcome but not required. A spreadsheet is fine; a PDF out of your CAD package is fine too.
Your range gets the green label, your name and the date you supplied it. Change your line-up and you send a new table; we replace it.
An angler measures 8.4 mm and your range appears in the result with the size you give it — verified, while your competitor sits below with an estimate.
Straight about the limits
The app does not order brands from good to bad and gives no stars. It says what a hook measures and what it is called. Nothing more.
Buying a verified label does not exist. Supply the figures and you get the label; withhold them and you are still listed, with an estimate.
We pass personal data to nobody. What a brand can get is aggregate counts: how many measurements landed on which size.
